For Mom’s Day… My mother and father. Found this photograph while visiting my parents last year. This was taken in ’68 before they were married. My dad loves to go fishing…always has. I’m guessing my mom was pretending to like fishing as well Once I was born, I was the one that got stuck on the 10 hour fishing excursions! Unfortunately, I didn’t care for fishing all that much during my teenage years. I’ve learned to love it since.
Anyway…Happy Mother’s Day Mom. I love you!

Rachel Platten Live at the Bluebird

I’m just getting around to uploading a few shots from Rachel Platten’s show at the Bluebird in Bloomington, Indiana from a few months ago. I was just there to shoot some portrait stuff but I stuck around for the show and shot some stuff as well. If you get the chance, you should seriously check her out. She’s extremely talented and puts on a very fun show.

Katie- Behind the Scenes

Here’s a little behind the scenes video of the bridal shoot we did with Katie recently.

You can see the final image below. There was very little post production done on the final photograph. Although we were shooting in the mid afternoon, we were able to over power the sun with our lights and make it look like we were shooting in the evening.

Rachel Platten

I can’t believe that it’s been over a month since I posted anything! A lot has been going on and I’ll start to post stuff here and there. I just need to find the time to edit them for the blog. For now, the lovely and wonderfully talented, Rachel Platten will have to do. She’s traveling across the country right now playing with Matt Nathanson and headlining some of her own shows as well. Her song, “Work of Art,” is the theme song to the ABC Family television show, Jane By Design and her first album, Be Here was released by Rock Ridge Music last year. It was pretty awesome working her! I also shot some of her live show at the Bluebird in Bloomington, Indiana and I’ll try to put those up on my Facebook page soon. Madera Wedding Albums

It is crazy cold out here in Lafayette! I’m down at the studio at six in the morning and the streets are a mess! I’m getting everything together for the Bridal Expo at Purdue Union. It’s put on by Family Services of Lafayette and runs from Noon until 4 o’clock. I’m always trying to find the best products to go a long with the best service for my brides and grooms This new Madera Wedding Album is no exception. It’s 12X12, hand crafted and feels like a million bucks! If you have a chance, come by the booth and check it out. If you can’t make the show you can still contact me and we can set up a time for you to come downtown to the studio and look at it in person. I shot a few of these pictures with my new toy, the Fuji X100. Check it out!

Desiree and Andrew

This engagement shoot was supposed to happen the week before Christmas but the weather was miserable that day. We were able to do it last Saturday but it was still pretty cold out. I was a little surprised that Desiree was as much of a trooper as she was considering she was the only one in a skirt Andrew had a suit on and my assistant Nick and I were prepared as well. We managed to make our way through downtown Lafayette, over the bridge to the West Lafayette ice skating rink and then back up the other side of downtown. It finally got to a point where it was too cold for too long so we called it a day.

Chelsea and Joel Part II

The first time that I shot Chelsea and Joel’s engagement pictures we ran out of sunlight fast. It was getting to be that time of year when the sun disappears around six in the evening. Along with the fact that I couldn’t find my way around the “country”, we lost our light much faster than I was used to. That being said, we decided to shoot more about a month later on her family’s farm outside of Lafayette. They decided to go casual this time and wear hoodies from their respective colleges. They even brought their dogs along to join in the festivities but unfortunately, the dogs didn’t want anything to do with my silly pictures Check ‘em out!
